Leisure - Traditional Products Demonstration

Traditional Coconut Oil Process (Nandusin)
   
Step 1 : Introduction to kinds of coconut. There are some kinds of coconut prepared in this demonstration for instances: kelapa dalam, kelapa genjah, kelapa gading, kelapa hijau, etc.
Step 2 : Breaking the coconuts by linggis or blakas..
Step 3 : Splitting the shell with the flesh of the coconuts using a tool called penyeluhan.
Step 4 : Scraping and grating process of the coconuts.
Step 5 : Making coconut milk or santan by mixing the grating
coconut with water, squeezed by hands then filter the mixture to obtain the coconut milk.
Step 6 : Boiling the coconut milk until the oil shows. Separate the
oil from the residue by ladle out it slowly and put it into
the other pan.
Step 7 : Final heating of the oil to remove the water contained.

Coffee Roasting
   
Step 1 : Coffee picking process.
Step 2 : Introduction to kinds of coffee.
Step 3 : Selecting the best quality coffee beans.
Step 4 : Drying coffee in the sun and peeling the shell of the coffee beans.
Step 5 : Frying the coffee without oil, in Bali called menyahnyah, using a clay pot.
Step 6 : Pounding process.
Step 7 : Coffee shifting process.
Step 8 : Packaging.


Cooking Balinese Cake 'Lak-Lak'
   
Step 1 : Mix coconut milk and powder until it becomes batter which already to be grilled.
Step 2 : Pour the batter into the shape cookies and grill it.
Step 3 : Spread the cake with grater coconut and also give palm sugar.
Step 4 : Laklak cake is ready to be served to the guests.


Making Palm Sugar
Step 1 : Obtaining the palm liquor called tuak, from the palm tree by using stairs making from bamboo.
Step 2 : Making lau, a liquid has function to give a sweet and a nice flavour to the palm sugar, made of lime powder (yeast), bark from jackfruit tree and water. Then tuak are mixed with lau.
Step 3 : The mixture then are cooked for 2,5 hours with additional of one spoon of coconut oil. After 2.5 hours, add one spoon of white sugar, stir slowly for about 5 minutes.
Step 4 : Put the hot mixture into the moulds, usually made of coconut shell or bamboo. Then continue to the drying process.
Step 5 : Packing process, the sugar wraps with dried maize leaves.


Making Balinese Liquor 'Arak'
Step 1 : Boiling tuak on a low fire about three hours in a pot that is completely covered, the space between the lid and the distiller are closed with clay.
Step 2 : The long boiling process condenses the tuak and turns it into arak. And arak is ready for consumption
